Full information on public transport in real time with SMOU
The SMOU mobile app has been updated and includes a section where users can check timetables, stops and stations on the metro, bus, tram, FGC and Rodalies train networks. The new features will help people plan their journeys better around Barcelona and the metropolitan area.
Besides including real-time information on public transport, the app will also offer a new ‘Routes’ feature from September, enabling users to look for different alternatives for getting from one point to another with their chosen means of travel, whether public transport, private vehicles, Bicing or on foot. To use the route recommendations, users simply choose the method of transport and the start and finish points. The app will show the various options available, including the distance and time required for each of them. If travelling with a private car or motorcycle, the app will also show available parking options.
The SMOU app currently has over 600,000 users and handles 1.5 million operations a month as a unique platform connecting all existing means of transport in Barcelona and the metropolitan area.
