The new cutting-edge service comes within the context of the Climate Plan. The initiative will start with a pilot project at two such installations, the pergola over the Ronda de Dalt, in Passeig Vall d’Hebron, and the pergola in Plaça d’Alfonso Comín.

Between the two photovoltaic pergolas, service will be provided for 86 consumers through a public competition, reserving capacity for 41 vulnerable households. The provision is that the households which make use of the service can save around 100 or 150 euros a year on their electricity bill.

The shared self-consumption service has an associated public price of 70 euros a year per 500 watts of energy shared, with a 100% discount in cases of vulnerable households.

Requisites for accessing the service

Users who energy will be shared with will be chosen in a public competition, meaning those interested must apply within the established time frame, meet the requirements and receive a score. For residential consumers, these will be the homes where the most people live.

Local shops and businesses can also apply, with priority given to those that have been part of the Comerç + Sostenible network for more than two years.

In all cases, users will have to demonstrate they meet the following requisites:

• Named holders of a contract for the supply of electricity.
• Have an electricity meter within a maximum distance of 1,000 metres of the photovoltaic installation.
• Change their supply contract to one of self-consumption. Municipal specialists will help new the new users with this process.
• Use the service for at least one year and up to a maximum of four years.

The reservation for vulnerable households will be applied according to social criteria, and these will not take part in the public competition. The Area for Social Services will value situations such as being users of Social Services, registered as large families or single-parent families, being energy dependent, having a disability or being a dependent person etc.
