School playgrounds open at the weekends again
Eighty nursery schools, primary and secondary schools all around the city’s neighbourhoods are offering their playgrounds for children, young people and families to use. These spaces are open outside of classroom hours, with monitors on hand from October.
Specifically, there are 60 schools that open their playgrounds on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, during mornings and afternoons, and 20 municipal nursery schools that open on Saturdays, during the morning and/or the afternoon, depending on each case.
The municipal programme “Open Playgrounds” aims to optimise the use of school premises and boost their social and educational side, offering everybody the chance to make collective use of them and engage in activities in a safe local environment outside of school hours.
