Barcelona Districte Cultural reaches all city neighbourhoods
The autumn brings a new edition of Barcelona Districte Cultural, filling the city with performing arts, live music and film for three months. The cycle offers 228 free shows for local people, with two more venues also taking part this year. The Sala Milaway, at the Institut Milà i Fontanals, and the Centre Cívic Bon Pastor, in Sant Andreu, join a long list of venues offering shows as part of Barcelona Districte Cultural, bringing the total number to 36.
The 14th edition of BDC runs from 6 October to 28 December, with consecrated shows and emerging acts in theatre, circus, dance, music and family film all forming part of a fully established cycle that makes quality culture accessible to neighbourhoods.
This season’s programme of 36 options and 228 functions includes special productions for schools in the neighbourhoods, with some accompanied by talks, presentations and other complementary activities. The goal is for local people to feel a part of the city’s culture.
