Operation for the FC Barcelona Champions League match in Montjuïc
The away leg in the quarter final of the men’s category of the top European tournament is being held at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Tuesday, 16 April, at 9 pm. Given the large numbers of spectators expected, a mobility plan will be in place that includes a series of recommendations for those attending, ensuring access in optimal conditions. The safety and prevention measures for traffic are as follows:
- Isolation of general traffic in the areas around the stadium and restrictions for unauthorised private vehicles, affecting the main approach roads such as Av. Estadi and Pg. Olímpic. Access by car will be limited from three hours before kick-off.
- Regulation of reserved parking areas for accredited vehicles belonging to people with reduced mobility and coaches transferring match-goers, plus control of inappropriate parking. For motorcycles, 3,500 parking spaces will be available in C/ Doctor Font i Quer and Pg. Migdia on match day.
- Establishment of a safety zone around the stadium and evacuation routes in case of emergency, plus safe routes.
By public transport, on foot or by bike
The restrictions mean people are recommended to get to Montjuïc on foot, on public transport or by bike. Besides the usual mobility options, there’s two free shuttle bus every three or four minutes to reach the stadium, from two hours before kick-off to an hour after the final whistle. In case of extra time or penalty shootout, these two shuttle buses will run until 1.15 pm.
The 150 bus service will also be bolstered, along with the Montjuïc funicular and the metro and FGC services. For more information on getting to the stadium, check out the website for the mobility operation or the TMB website and plan your route with the Getting there tool or the Smou app.
