BEAT Barcelona, the place to meet at the MWC24
The third edition of Barcelona’s after-work space at the Mobile World Congress is at the entrance to 4YFN, at hall 8 of Fira de Barcelona-Gran Via. With 1,600 square metres of floor space, BEAT Barcelona includes zones to show congress-goers the city’s potential in the fields of technology, music and gastronomy. This is the official meeting point for informal meetings and relaxing after an intense day of work. The Àgora has a capacity for 40 people, with various talks to be given there. These will cover topics such as public funding for start-ups, the future of care technology, Barcelona as a chip capital, the tech innovation that comes with the America’s Cup, fine cuisine, observation and analysis systems for commerce in the city and the new Barcelona Sports Hub.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy Plaça Barcelona, a virtual reality corner enabling people to visit different spaces in the city virtually. The sculpture of the la Fundació Barcelona Music Lab is an immersive installation created with 3,571 recycled one-litre bottles of water which have made this 3D-printed creation possible. The work is a light and sound sculpture that displays the synergies of the multiple stakeholders in the music sector.
In addition, the space includes a varied music programme during its opening hours, arranged by the foundation itself and the Association of Music Venues of Catalonia. It also offers hot and cold drinks along with local food options typical of Barcelona’s gastronomy and Catalan cuisine in general.
BEAT Barcelona is jointly backed by the City Council, MWCapital and GSMA.
