All nightlife premises at the Olympic Port now under municipal control

Judicial authorisations to regain control of the last four nightlife premises at the Olympic Port have now been implemented. Of the 44 premises, 25 came under municipal control through legal proceedings and the keys for 18 were handed over voluntarily. The process regains a total area of 10,000 square metres at the port, which will be used as a place for people to stroll in, the promotion of the blue economy and nautical sports.

The transformation of the new port continues, with all nightlife venues now recovered and the provisional urbanisation of the Moll de Mestral wharf. New areas will be created here for people to relax in or pursue sports, making use of the space previously taken up by these premises.

The new model for the port seeks to turn it into a large space for social and family uses, for people to stroll in, work and pursue nautical sports. The site will also be used to promote the blue economy, linked to the sea and environmental sustainability.

Some work to open the Olympic Port up to more public use is already under way.
