Disruptions to mobility for the Firefighters’ Run
The first disruptions start on Friday, 8 November, with normal traffic conditions to resume at 5 pm on Sunday. An estimated 453 firefighters will be taking part in this year’s event, 223 of them from the Barcelona Fire Service.The 10 km run starts and finishes in Passeig Picasso, taking in Avinguda del Marquès de l’Argentera, Pla de Palau, Passeig d’Isabel II, Plaça d’Antonio López, Passeig de Colom, Plaça del Portal de la Pau, Passeig de Josep Carner, Plaça de les Drassanes, Avinguda del Paral·lel, Carrer de Rocafort, Gran via de les Corts Catalanes, Passeig de Sant Joan and the streets of Buenaventura Muñoz, Àvila and Pujades.
The route will be closed to traffic during the whole event, with circulation reestablished once runners have passed through each section.
In addition, C/ Pujades will be closed to traffic on the side nearest the mountains, from Roger de Flor to Pg. Lluís Companys, from 9 am on Saturday, 9 November. The starting area will be completely isolated from 7 am on Sunday, to include both sides of C/ Pujades from Wellington to Roger de Flor.
The dismantling process will start after the end of the run, with the start and finish arch dismantled at 1.30 pm and traffic circulation completely back to normal at 5 pm.
Parking
Parking is prohibited in the following places, including motorcycles on pavements:
- Carrer de Pujades (side nearest the mountain), from Roger de Flor to Pg. Lluís Companys; from Friday, 8, at 8 pm, to Sunday, 10, at 5 pm.
- Carrer de Pujades (side nearest the mountain), from Wellington to Roger de Flor; from Friday, 8, at 8 pm, to Sunday, 10m at 2 pm.
- Carrer de Picasso (side nearest the Llobregat), from Pg. Pujades to Av. Marquès de l’Argentera; from Saturday, 9, at 6 am, to Sunday, 10, at 11 am.
Vehicles that remain parked in these locations may be removed by the BSM tow truck service.
In addition, vehicles in the following locations may not be moved between 8 am and 12 noon on Sunday:
- Circumval·lació (side nearest the Besòs), from Ramon Trias Fargas to Av. Marquès de l’Argentera.
- Marquès de l’Argentera (side nearest the mountains), from Pg. Picasso to Pla de Palau.
- Isabel II (side nearest the sea), from Pla de Palau to Pl. Idrissa Diallo.
- Colom (side nearest the mountains), from Pl. Idrissa Diallo to La Rambla.
- Paral·lel (side nearest the Besòs), from Pl. Drassanes to Rocafort.
- Rocafort (both sides), from Av. Paral·lel to Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes.
- Buenaventura Muñoz both sides), from Pg. Lluís Companys to Marina.
- Pallars (bith sides), from Marina to Àvila.
- Àvila (both sides), from Pallars to Pg. Pujades.
Vehicles that remain in streets on the route where parking has been expressly prohibited will be immobilised.
Public transport
The bus services affected with diversions or limitations to their routes are: D20, D50, H12, H14, H16, V9, V11, V13, V15, V17, V19, V21, V23, 6, 7, 13, 19, 21, 22, 24, 39, 47, 54, 55, 59, 63, 67, 120, 121, 136 and 141. The blue and red routes of the Bus Turístic will also be affected.
Bicing stations affected by the route will be out of service during the event.
People are advised to use the metro to get around the affected area. Participants can reach the start and finish area by metro, getting off at Arc de Triomf (L1) or Barceloneta (L4).
