En mi cuerpo mando yo / Alter ego

Last year, Ana Brenes and Laura Marchal sang a capella the feminist poems that José Luis Ortiz Nuevo illuminated to the flamenco beat with the title of En mi cuerpo mando yo. Now the goal is to musically expand the experience to turn it into a concert, but not just any concert. The challenge these artists set for themselves is to hold a continuous recital, without any interruptions, something that is as dynamic as it is rare on the flamenco scene. The guitar is in charge of connecting the songs without spoiling the unique beat of flamenco, and it will blend the different styles that the cantaores will perform with carefully thought-out transitions. The voices will complement each other and sometimes sing simultaneously to bring richness to the cante.

After that, the recently appointed director of the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, Patricia Guerrero, will feature in an encounter with one of the great names from the flamenco school of Madrid, Alfonso Losa. Alter ego is a pas de dos which pursues the freedom of paired improvisation. It is a personal performance that shows the playfulness of two individuals dancing together and exploring their own boundaries, supported by the skill of a brilliant guitarist and two incredible voices. Five amazing artists together for the occasion. 

Desvarío is the heir of the Flamenco Festival in Nou Barris, which was founded in 2000 and ran for 17 years. El Dorado SFB has now taken over directing and managing the new festival in collaboration with the Nou Barris District. El Dorado SFB is a cultural association set up in 2007 with the aim of creating a regular space to promote and spread flamenco culture in Barcelona by viewing flamenco as a modern folk art.
