Quim Masó Award
18th Quim Masó Award
New edition of the award aimed at supporting theatrical production. With the collaboration of the Grec Festival.
Actor, director and theatre producer Quim Masó, founder of Talleret de Salt, Grup Proscenium, the bookshop Llibreria 22 and Girona-based theatre production company Bitò, lends his name to an annual initiative that aims to promote professional staging projects. The prize is awarded to the most creative and highest quality Catalan-language productions from among the projects presented. Since 2019, the award has been organised by the Fundació La Ciutat Invisible, dedicated to the promotion of culture in general, and the performing arts in particular.
A jury made up of professionals from the performing arts world will choose from among the stage productions presented as candidates for the award – works that have yet to be performed which, if selected, will receive a monetary award for the production.
The winning stage project in the 2023 edition of the Quim Masó Award was Sis hectàrees d’oliveres [Six hectares of olive trees] by Aina Tur, which will be shown in this year’s edition of the festival at the Heartbreak Hotel theatre.
