A flat in La Pedrera is the setting for a small-format piece, an experience of theatre at close quarters taken to extremes that speaks about chance and above all about things that are beyond our control.
We often wonder what would have happened if we had not made a particular decision or if, on that fateful day, we had taken a different route … These things, chance occurrences that alter our lives and which we would like to change by taking an impossible step backwards, are the theme of this production. It is the story of Maria, a doctor from Celrà whose husband is also a medical practitioner, and that of Teresa, who has spent her entire life looking after her brother who has been confined to a wheelchair since he was a little boy. One single event changes the lives of all four characters, who, despite wishing they could turn the clock back, will only have one alternative: to keep going forward.
Actors David Planas and Meritxell Yanes asked the playwright Cristina Clemente (Volem anar al Tibidabo, Vimbodí versus Praga) to write a play for an audience of about twenty, to be performed at the home of the owner of Can Pagans, formerly a Noucentista factory in Celrà. It is an experience so familiar that at times it seems to be mixed up with real life, and it is even powerful enough to make spectators feel uncomfortable. They are the effects of an existential drama that aims to give the audience an unusual and radically different experience.
