Jazz night at the Teatre Grec, with three names demonstrating the curiosity and urge for exploration that is innate to the genre. On stage are Jean-Luc Ponty, perhaps Europe’s most influential jazz violinist, a pioneer in the use of the electric violin who has brought a new sensitivity to the synthesiser; Stanley Clarke, the brilliant electric and acoustic bass player widely acclaimed for his spectacular virtuoso musicianship; and Bela Fleck, the man who opened up new horizons for an instrument, the banjo, which he uses to paint all kinds of sound landscapes, mixing jazz, classical and traditional folk music.
