The voice of Susana Sheiman, accompanied by the Open Gate Quintet, put the soul into this club in Plaça Reial for a few days, presenting new repertoires.
The singer Susana Sheiman richly deserves her place in the Olympus of great vocalists. Anyone who has seen her perform with the Barcelona Jazz Orquestra or heard her debut album, Swing Appeal, will surely agree. At Jamboree, Sheiman will be accompanied by three fine, experienced musicians: Xavier Algans (from the Big Band Jazz Terrassa) on piano; Artur Regada (founder-member of La Vella Dixieland) on double bass; and Caspar St. Charles (who has worked with countless leading names in the music world, from Jackson Browne to Charlie Wood, amongst many others) on drums. The singer will also have powerful backing from Toni Solà, a self-taught musician whose tenor sax style drinks from the deep well of classic bop.
