In a concert organized by Teatralnet, the digital magazine devoted to the performing arts, great voices from the Catalan musical team up with the Municipal Band of Barcelona to revisit works by one of the great masters of the genre.
Flor de nit, Mar i cel, Gaudí, Paradís, La vampira del Raval, Desconcerto Grosso, Crim i càstig... The origins of the musical may lie in Anglo-Saxon lands, but the genre has also found fortune in Catalonia in a series of outstanding compositions superbly performed at our country’s theatres by a veritable choir of magnificent voices. These voices will ring out once more in this concert, which renders tribute to the talent of one of the great Catalan masters of the stage musical: Albert Guinovart. Besides a large repertoire of classical music, embracing both symphonic and chamber prices, and music for films and television, Guinovart also composed the scores for the musicals that will be sampled this evening, arranging them and playing them at the piano, accompanied by the voices of such artists as Daniel Anglès, the vocal group Deu de veu, Xavier Fernández, Elena Gadel, Ivan Labanda, Mone, Nina and Toni Viñals. Solo, in duets or in chorus formations, these singers will perform an attractive, popular repertoire of the highest quality. Throughout the concert, they will be accompanied by the Municipal Band of Barcelona, an extraordinarily accomplished and versatile ensemble that has become a regular guest at the Grec Festival.
