Three in one: La Caldera brings a multi-faceted initiative to the festival that has its beginnings in Montreal and ends by bringing together a group of artists from different disciplines to create and explore the meaning of the performing arts in today's social context.
La Caldera joins the festival once more, with a three-part production that follows on from the works presented at the last two editions, Mov|i|ment #1 and #2, this time taking a more social, participatory approach.
(1) The Montreal/BCN Project brings together two creative artists from different generations from these two cities.
(2) Artists in residence at La Caldera (such as Pablo Esbert, Sarah Anglada, Karla Kracht and the collective formed by Maria Montseny and Anna Rubirola), and founding artists at the centre (Inés Boza from SenZa TemPo, Carles Salas from Búbulus and Montse Colomé) present their latest creations. We can also enjoy a night of improvised music and dance in a collaboration with Gràcia Territori Sonor, one of the new resident companies at La Caldera.
(3) Ment#3, a forum for thinking about the performing arts, invites Pedro Soler (former director of Hangar) to curate this third edition. A group of artists and thinkers from different disciplines will form a campsite at La Caldera to work on a book sprint based on contributions from local assemblies and audiences. Entitled Emergències, the book will reflect on artistic practices in the current social context.
