The Barcelonan cantaora becomes the embodiment of memory in a performance showcasing the legacy left by those who helped to make flamenco great.
Juanito Valderrama, Manuel Torre, Enrique Morente, La Niña de los Peines... The history of flamenco is full of legendary names that made this genre great, filling it with truth, distilling its essence and ensuring that this musical form would survive in time, transcending fashions. They are all enshrined in the musical memory of Mayte Martín, a flamenco artist whose great qualities include elegance, delicacy, emotion and, especially, honesty. To create her latest show, Mayte delved into the roots of flamenco, reviving the figures and sounds that made this an immortal art.
Considered one of the foremost exponents of the genre known as Catalan flamenco, Mayte Martín has also explored different genres, particularly the bolero, throughout her career. Along the way, she has worked with a wide range of artists, from Tete Montoliu to the bailaora Belén Maya, the Cuban diva Omara Portuondo and the fado singer Dulce Pontes, amongst others.
