L'Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio

It all began in 2002, when a group of musicians rescued an abandoned Rome cinema, making it their home and forming a band: l’Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio. Later, this story was turned into a film by the director Agostino Ferrente. Now, Grec’08 presents an original new format: a film-concert featuring a showing of Ferrente’s film, in which we see how the band started out, followed by a live performance by this unique orchestra. Giving immigrants a voice, L’Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio has become the new face of a multicultural Italy in which people from all origins mix. The orchestra has given more than 300 concerts all over the world, each a blend of social engagement, a combative spirit and the desire to have fun.
