The Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio is combative and progressive orchestra that has become a reference for such values as tolerance and multiculturalism, all expressed in the most ironic and festive way. At Grec 08, L’Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio gave a sell-out film-concert, and this year they return with their latest production: a show featuring the orchestra’s rendition of Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute. The show is based on an imaginary premise: it as if Mozart’s composition had never been written down, and had to be transmitted orally, through songs and tales from all over the world, and is played just as it would have reached the musicians in the orchestra. In this way, the music is transformed, constantly evolving, and that is how L’Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio plays it, meeting this musical challenge with an enormous charge of sensitivity and joie de vivre.
