Music and words are key in a show that uses dramatised songs and the most irreverent cabaret numbers to explore the many possibilities that mistakes open up.
Alfonso de Vilallonga says that, very often, when he plays the piano trying to compose something, he makes mistakes and plays “the note next door". But, frequently, this “wrong” note ends up forming part of the song, or completely changes the tune it was supposed to form part of. Hence the title of this show, in which the composer himself becomes a character. The performance begins with Vilallonga having trouble completing a commissioned musical theatre work. This leads to a digression in which he tells us about his aristocratic background and his feeling that he is a wrong note, the product of a mistake, in the family melody. A fine cast of unusual, charismatic musicians, actors and singers will join Vilallonga in a show featuring many of his songs, which speak of impossibilities, absurd joy, the ups and downs of love, and the search for the meaning of life. Why does the wrong door always open? Is a wrong note better than the right one? Is he himself the product of a mistake? Alfonso de Vilallonga will ask all these questions, attempting to find answers with the help of his next-door neighbour, his domestic assistant and even his ancestor: the first Baron Maldà.
