Her fans say that, if it did not exist, it would necessary to invent a voice like that possessed by Katie Melua, a British singer of Georgian origin who has charmed music-lovers all over Europe with her songs, both covers and self-penned.
Her musical career began when she was just fifteen, and she recorded her first album, Call Off the Search, in 2003. The album was a hit and all Europe fell at her feet, entranced, not only by her youthful beauty, but also – and especially – by her voice, which gives you an idea of what a caress would sound like. Melua bewitches us with her songs and her guitar, as she plays numbers written for her by producer Mike Batt, who first discovered her, and a repertoire of versions that ranges from Dylan’s "Blowin’ in the Wind" to "The Way You Look Tonight", immortalised by Frank Sinatra.
