IT Emergents

The cooperation between the Grec 2016 Festival of Barcelona, Temporada Alta and FiraTàrrega once more gives us the opportunity to see for ourselves the work that young professionals recently graduated from the city’s Theatre Institute (Institut el Teatre, IT). Two plays presented under the generic title of "Emerging IT."

Documentary and fiction are fused in a stage play that alludes to several events that have taken place in the city in recent years: from the 4-F corruption scandal to the Pandora police operation and the Esther Quintana case. These events inspire the company to create a piece that questions the use of power by the police, the judiciary and the media, and the social and personal conflicts that this generates.

Kohlhaas is an honest horse-trader who becomes the victim of abuse of power when he should have been protected. He decides to take justice into his own hands and becomes the leader of a small revolutionary army to end systematic corruption and influence trafficking by the use of violence. How much can we stand before we take up arms?
