This year marks the centenary of the Theatre Institute. An exhibition looks back over its one-hundred-year history of the institute and its role in developing young talent for the Catalan stage.
Where do Catalan actors, directors, set designers and dancers come from? Well, many come from the Theatre Institute, a centre with a vocation that goes beyond training and which plays a major role in developing creativity in the Catalan performing arts. We can now look back on its fascinating history, learning how the institute works, the performing arts it teaches and the services it provides, including conservation, research into and promotion of theatre heritage. The show was curated by the writer and director Guillem-Jordi Graells and designed by Ignasi Cristià.
The exhibition will be open from morning to night and will be open after theatre and dance shows both at the Institut del Teatre and at neighbouring theatres: Mercat de les Flors and Teatre Lliure.
