Tradition and modernity, analog and digital sounds, new rhythms like electrocumbia and moombahton ... All this and more on a night dedicated to the tropical and alternative sounds of Latin America, as well as those of Barcelona.
Formed in 2003, Bareto quickly became known in their native country, Peru, with their mixture of rhythms, ranging from cumbia and merengue to reggae, ska and rock. Now, having found fame in North America, Brazil, Japan and so on, they are in Barcelona to showcase new directions in Latin sounds. Dj Panko (Ojos de Brujo, Lenacay...) teams up with Electro Rumbaiao to serve up a fusion of flamenco, electronica and Balkan rhythms, and which we can hear on the album they present this evening, entitled Boom. Next up, Territorio Comanche are an electronic duo from Barcelona and Columbia. Their sounds range from dub and dubstep to electrocumbia and drum'n'bass. Also on the bill are two outstanding DJs, El Timbe and Dj Tupinamba. Timbe is a Catalan who serves up the latest tropical beats in his show, El Timberismo Live Set. Get ready for a session that mixes exotic rhythms, electronica and spectacular visuals. Finally, we round off the Elektropical Fever Fest with a session from Dj Tupinamba, also known as, María Tupinamba, who will entertain us with 60s sounds, disco and Latin American music.
