Victor and Esther, his wife, invite Victor’s brother, Walter, to the house where they lived with their parents as children. Victor is a police sergeant eligible for retirement, his brother, a successful surgeon. They get together because the building has to be demolished, and they are waiting for an appraiser to value the furniture that still fills the rooms. They are in the attic, looking through dusty objects there, but these old belongings are not the only things in the house: there are also many memories here, ghosts that will lead the characters to think about how things could have turned out if, at a certain time, they had made different decisions. An actress as well as a film and theatre director, Sílvia Munt stages this Catalan-language version of enthralling play, The Price, one full of hope and rancour, regret and helplessness. The leading characters are played by a magnificent cast, Pere Arquillué, Ramon Madaula, Lluís Marco and Rosa Renom, who pay tribute to a great playwright on the centenary of his birth.
