The list of venues that offer training related to the world of performance is expanding this year with the Sala Periferia Cimarronas, a venue in the city devoted especially to the creations of Afro-descendent playwrights or those who speak about Afro-descendence, with a gender perspective, who view culture as a tool for transformation.
The guests invited to teach this year’s class, which lasts three months, include the playwright and director Denise Duncan, a Barcelona-based author born in Costa Rica. She has launched the Engruna Teatre project, a company founded 16 years ago which seeks to thrill and transcend with their shows that discuss little things which turn into stories brimming with symbolism and content.
