A musical and choreographic production which submerges us in the personal longing of a flamenco dancer to have a child and who displays the web of human relationships on stage offering us a reflection of motherhood.
Three women on stage. Two mirrors reflecting one another and a mother. Grito Pelao gives us the opportunity to see two of the great stage performers in action. However, it’s not just about coming to see one of the biggest Flamenco dancers, Rocio Molina, perform, or about hearing the voice of Silvia Pérez Cruz, capable of moving even the most sceptic of listeners. Nor is it about enjoying seeing two exceptional talents share the stage. This time, Molina Cruz and Pérez Cruz, brought together by an atavistic mutual understanding, have decided to let go of their securities and delve into an unknown space which they are inevitably drawn to. Molina transforms her body and the way she dances searching for a wisdom, from stillness, close to her desire to become a mother, a search which brings together life and art, dance and her own identity. The rich and devoted voice of Pérez Cruz accompanies her on this journey, interpreting a bunch of songs, among them, two with “Lorcan” lyrics created especially by the artist for this performance. Together they auscultate right to the last breath the profound structure of the feminine body. It’s no surprise that the dancer invites Lola Cruz, her own mother, to share the stage with them. That mother who is criticised, needed, that mother who was also a daughter and who, for her daughter, would give anything.
