A great Cuban duo show what two generations of the best Latin jazz players can do together. Bebo Valdés, one of the finest pianists his country has produced, is an outstanding figure in Cuban music. When he made Calle 54, Fernando Trueba helped to restore Bebo to his rightful place on the music scene. In the film, Bebo plays a duet with his son Chucho, a pianist who was being compared with the great masters of jazz such as Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock even in the 1970s.
