What would happen if you closed your eyes during a show featuring music by Carles Santos? You will find the answer to this question at a performance by the composer with the Palau de la Música Catalana Chamber Choir.
Pantera imperial, Tramuntana tremens, La meua filla sóc jo, Chicha Montenegro... All these are all titles of shows featuring music created by the pianist and composer Carles Santos. But, what if we were to dispense with the lovely images that accompanied them? You will find out at this concert, featuring excerpts from works by the artist from Vinaròs, the choral passages from his compositions, to be precise. These works will be performed by the Chamber Choir of the Palau de la Música Catalana, an ensemble founded more than twenty years ago. Directed by Josep Vila, the choir has performed many outstanding works from the history of Catalan music, beginning with the Renaixement, but also including pieces by such contemporary composers as Santos himself, Joan Albert Amargós, Salvador Brotons, Xavier Montsalvatge and Albert Guinovart, amongst others.
