Three bodies rise, trembling, only to fall to the ground again after a fleeting rebirth. Influenced by images of victims from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Tatsumi Hijikata, the creator of this style, defined butoh as “a corpse desperately standing”. This definition also serves to describe Dead 1, created by Ko Murobuski and performed by three of his followers from Ko & Edge Co., and which we will be able to see along with quick silver, a solo created and performed by Murobushi himself. In quick silver, a nearly-naked body, painted silver, moves slowly but constantly, never adopting a fixed posture.
