The live-art company United Cowboys are based in Eindhoven (Holland). Their work balances on the edges of dance and performance with a strong attraction to the fine arts and a need to investigate new forms of presentation and participation by artists and audience.
Over the 2017-2020 period, their researches will be further developed by Burn – to be continued, the starting point for collaboration with the Grec Festival and the Theatre Festival Boulevard (NL) .
The purpose is to create an inspiring environment in which dancers, artists, musicians and performers join together at a location at the Festival, build a biotope, and invite both other artist-spectators to join this temporary community.
An exchange of inspiration, skills and knowledge
With this combination of creativity, participation and presentation, United Cowboys aim for a more intensive, mutual result. Not only presenting work, but also involving local artists and the audience through communication, discussion and forming part of the working process. How is the work created? What are the artistic starting points? What is the cultural background? We believe that obtaining knowledge by watching and experiencing is the right method for learning and for developing projects.
This is the mission statement that has guided our work in cooperation with festivals and theatres in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Canada.
It is also the statement that inspires us to seek further cooperation and exchanges over the coming years.
