BooMBeta

A series of artistic initiatives from the La Marina neighbourhood, launched by El Graner, a dance and live-arts creation centre. The fourth edition of BooMBeta coincides with the tenth anniversary of the centre, hence the extension of the programme. Over the period of a month, activities are being organised to promote dialogue between the neighbourhood and the artistic processes of El Graner's residents. BooMBeta has been gently simmering during the first part of the year and generating local and work contexts with La Marina's local residents, which will open to the neighbourhood and city through a variety of events and activities, all free of charge.

To celebrate this edition and the tenth anniversary of El Graner, the programme for this year’s BooMBeta is as follows:

22 June
5.30 pm, 7 pm and 8 pm
Exorcisme Tik Tok + guided visit to El Graner + Lo viejo y lo nuevo
What happens when parents are not around? Lo viejo y lo nuevo is a new show-performance from the Ça marche company in which spectators observe a play area where local children from the neighbourhood simply play. On the same day, Exorcisme Tik Tok invites us to reflect on the body and images to propose new ways of looking at them (opening of work currently in creation process).  The event concludes with a guided tour of El Graner, the dance and live-arts creation centre.

1 and 2 July

Darrere de la muntanya
A proposal from the nyamnyam collective, with Imma Solé, Dianelis Diéguez, Salva Sanchís, Pedro Pineda and Anna Rovira. This piece explores the notion of neighbourhood through the object-bench, a stage device and an installation that creates a shared space between reality and fiction.

10 and 11 July

Aquí i no allà
Aurora Bauzà and Pere Jou, together with the women's group Les Aventureres, have created a show somewhere between opera and contemporary dance. Aquí i no allà, is a collective research project on the body, the voice,  identity vulnerability and empowerment.

24 July
7 pm
El camino del ardor (site-specific creation)
An itinerant proposal which, in the form of a romeria, gives new meaning to the spaces of La Marina, through a playful, guerilla proposal with singing.  The piece is based on a performance piece by Alberto Cortés El Ardor.

La infinita conversación de las imágenes
During this year's edition of BooMBeta, a game device will be activated, devised by Dianelis Diéguez, which recreates infinite scores for a specific time and space which engages the curiosity of our eyes by passing through the memory of other eyes.

In collaboration with and supported by the Barcelona Grec Festival 2021 and the Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB). In cooperation with Unitat d’Entitats de La Marina, Associació Generación Guineo-Catalana Virgen de Bisila, Espai Química and other neighborhood collectives. Lamarina.cat official media.

All the activities are free of charge and will take place in El Graner or other nearby spaces.
