She was born in Norway, but once lived in Barcelona for over a year and knows the city well. She now returns with her indie folk-pop sounds for a concert organised at the request her fans.
This composer, singer and guitarist emerged in 2003 with the release of the album Spending Time with Morgan, which launched a career that has made her famed throughout Europe. In 2010, she supported Peter Gabriel (with whom she recorded a duet) on the UK artist’s New Blood tour. Enormously popular in Norway, where she has won several Grammy Awards, Brun is an independent artist with her own record label (Balloon Ranger Recordings), on which she recently released her 2015 album, Directions. The video for the homonymous first single shows Brun dancing and singing, tirelessly and absolutely alone in a huge hangar. This should come as no surprise, because, as she explains, before discovering the guitar she was totally addicted to rhythmic gymnastics, and never missed a chance to dance, whatever the music. Her audience at BARTS will find that Brun is still in excellent form, happy to return to Barcelona (they say she wrote her first song, Otra vez, in the Catalan capital) and to have been chosen by spectators themselves in the process of selecting artists for the Grec programme organised jointly by the festival and the promoter Cooncert.
With catalan songwriter Ismael Clark as a guest artist.
