“The first forty years of life give us the text, the next 30 supply the commentary” (Schopenhauer).
Today, as life expectancy grows, we are faced by the contradiction between seeing maturity as a place from which to admire the beauty of the passing of time and the awareness that we are gradually becoming obsolete.
This idea is the starting point of this thought-provoking work by Sebastián García Ferro, entitled +45, in which seven experienced dancers, representatives on stage of that second age, and a chorus of amateur extras from the second and third ages, creating an authentic human landscape, are the protagonists. This is a work that takes an unprejudiced approach, fusing contemporary dance and social to suggest a meditation on our society through movement.
