SEQUENCE #1' - Something Of Pleasure - Performative Conference

I will try to put together what it means to me to work with images, taking into account: Charlotte. Grey. Rocks. (2015), some resistance to interpretation and some pleasure.

*some pleasure was made expressly for SEQUENCE #1. From the beginning to the end of the conference, the video Charlotte. Grey. Rocks was projected. Lorea Alfaro faced the audience, seated at a table with a computer from which she read the text. Behind the artist was the wall where the video was projected, overflowing the wall. In two moments the videoclip "Un, dos, tres, orgasmo" by Chico y Chica and a videolyric of "I think", subtitled in Spanish, by Tyler The Creator were superimposed.

Lorea Alfaro. Artist. In 2014, she launched LA. A hollow brand, LA (3l3a), as a way to create a protected environment to generate image. Her work is characterized by letting appear a quiet, naked and direct beauty. Some of his recent projects are 'do mess with me', at Artium (Vitoria, 2021); 'NLB', at the Museum of Navarra (Pamplona, 2021); 'No lo banalices', at the CarrerasMugica gallery (Bilbao, 2018); '<3 S P S S <3', at Tabakalera (San Sebastián, 2017); 'Tú', at the Jorge Oteiza Museum Foundation (Alzuza, 2017); or the works in collaboration with artist Jon Otamendi: 2020, at the Joan Miró Foundation (Barcelona, 2021); 'Ven a mi cara', at the CarrerasMugica gallery (Bilbao, 2020); and 'El mundo o nada', at the Moisés Pérez de Albéniz gallery (Madrid, 2017). 

SEQUENCE is a cycle of activities linked to the programming of the Fabra i Coats: Centre d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona. SEQUENCE #1 proposed a framework to delve into the particular performative link between bodies and images.
