Process // The First Stone of What?

The installation The New First Stone by Jordi Mitjà and the group action involving the participation of two schools, Institut Martí Pous and Institut La Sagrera, initiated a new phase for the Art Centre and reflecting on what it is to be an art institution is a theme that will be present throughout the Centre’s programme. In The First Stone of What?, students were filmed sharing their ideas about what it means to place the first stone of something and about what they think the connection between the schools and the Art Centre should be like going forward. At the presentation of the video, we were able to introduce these questions to students from other years at the two schools who were not present for the first part of the research and discuss them together. ​
