LOLA LASURT: SOROLL BLANC / WHITE SAND #2. TRANSITIONS BETWEEN SEQUENCES

A shared learning process at the centre as part of the Loom programme of the Living In-between project at the Fabra i Coats - Contemporary Art Centre. A project that analyses the intermediate space from a creative perspective. Moments of transition understood to be processes open to the possibility of change. 

THE LEGACY OF ANALOGUE

At the Fabra i Coats Art Centre, a digitalisation centre has been installed, with projectors for watching and at the same time recording films you have made, found or inherited. There is also a record player with a USB port so that you can play things you haven't listened to for a while. You can also scan all sorts of printed materials. At the same time we want to think about the differences between recording and saving formats and how they contribute to our experiences and forms of relationship. The factory as a digitalisation centre for analogue photography, vinyl records and 8 mm films.

In his video Interface, Harun Farocki says that "when working with film, you have to make an actual cut in the image or sound strip. As opposed to video editing, where you simply copy from one tape to the next, making an imaginary cut and not a real one. When working with video I don’t touch the tape, I only push buttons".

Ruido Blanco son 4 sesiones abiertas a todo el mundo en la antigua fábrica textil, en un momento en el que se repiensa su papel como centro de arte y su relación con el barrio. Al mismo tiempo, la Escuela Can Fabra, dentro del mismo recinto fabril, deja atrás 7 años en barracones para trasladarse definitivamente a un nuevo edificio. Las sesiones contarán con la participación de maestros y familias de la escuela y otras comunidades de aprendizaje tanto de Sant Andreu como de fuera del barrio.
