Action: Words of love
In April 2023, I was invited to create a project about LOVE to be presented the following year at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, as part of Festival ZIP. My proposal consisted of organising and leading the recital of love poems written and read aloud by people who at one time or another in their lives had assassinated, inflicted violence or risked their lives in the name of some idea they had of love.
I invited the different participants to write a poem or a story about their passion, about that moment when a certain notion of love, and its flip side, come together. I asked them to do so without filters or censorship. And they did.
Words of Love takes a look at the presence of the representation of Love and Passion in Western culture, investigating the relationship between Western cultural productions about the passion of love and some of the consequences that these representations and narratives have on the reality of bodies, both individual and collective.
On this occasion, I kept track of the research, using the piece as part of the première of the Words of Love. An Essay About Passion video projection.
I would like to thank all the participants.
