Emma Armengod Martínez has worked at Libraries in Barcelona since 2004. She is director of the Trinitat Vella-J. Barbero Library, opened in 2012. This library is characterized by its socio-educational work with the residents of the neighborhood, especially with children, teenagers and young people. The library is located in one of the most vulnerable neighborhoods in the city and carries out important community work with the other facilities, services and projects in the neighborhood.
In 2013, this library received the second Teresa Rovira i Comas award, created by the Library Service of the Generalitat de Catalunya, for the work it does with young people of the territory and the networking with the equipment, services and entities that work with and for young people.
