Antonio Alcántara is a social educator at the University of Barcelona (UB) and he has a Master’s in Innovative Education and Evaluation of Training Programmes from the National University of Distance Education (UNED).

He is an associate professor in the UB Faculty of Education and a member of the pedagogical team at the Ateneu Popular 9 Barris, where he is the Social Circus and Training Area coordinator. He also coordinates La Perifèrica, an organisation that specialises in participation processes, community action and socio-cultural animation.

He often works with the Catalan Youth Agency’s participation promotion department. His articles and publications specialise in youth, participation and community management issues.
