A new agreement signed with the Fundació “la Caixa” will bring activities and social projects to centres for the elderly, the goal being to add quality of life and reduce the digital divide. The collaboration resumed this year after the pandemic and has enabled over 300 projects to be organised in 2022, with 3,000 people taking part.
The programme will be offered at thirty spaces with IT facilities and is based around four areas:
- Maintaining physical health and preventing frailty.
- Fostering personal development.
- Improving digital skills.
- Social participation and volunteer work.
Work will also focus on adding more activities this year.
The agreement with the Fundació “la Caixa” comes in addition to other municipal projects geared towards the use of new technologies and improving the well-being of elderly people. Examples include the VinclesBCN service and the BCN+65 app.
