Welcome to Innovacció 2030

Mobilty and accessibility. New programme to find tech solutions which improve accessibility and mobility in the city.

The new Innovacció 2030 programme will use an overall budget of 951,888 euros to identify digital and tech solutions to address the main accessibility and mobility challenges for cities set out in the 2030 Agenda.

The challenges are developed with the collaboration of companies, organisations and entrepreneurs with a vocation and capacity to generate innovation.

In each case, an ideas competition is tendered to find the technical solution which best addresses the challenge, and which can be contracted to try out the solution in a real environment in the city. The goal is to identify tech proposals which have a positive impact for citizens in the spheres of accessibility and mobility. In addition, in successful cases, an assessment will be made of the possibilities of scaling up solutions with more potential in other geographical areas.

Inclusive visits to Park Güell and Barcelona Zoo

The goal of these two challenges is to make the most of the use of data and tech to help people with sensory and/or cognitive diversity to enjoy public spaces, in this case Park Güell and the Zoo, guaranteeing their rights to education, leisure and culture.

The innovative solutions for these two iconic spaces in the city must be able to be adapted and reproduced in other public spaces.

System to control the correct vehicle occupancy in roads with spaces reserved for people with functional diversity

Public space is a finite resource in cities where populations continue to swell. Barcelona has various types of reserved spaces, such as those set aside for goods deliveries, official services, blue and green parking spaces and more. This makes positive discrimination necessary for certain groups, allowing for a more equal distribution of this space.

These reserved spaces increasingly tend to limit public space and the new needs which arise, such as multi-disciplinary spaces or shared mobility vehicles. The challenge is therefore to find a solution to implement a parking authorisation system for people with functional diversity.

Electromobility

With the overall goal of becoming a more sustainable city, we need to make sure that the roll-out of electric vehicles is completely practicable. Because of this we must optimise energy distribution services and vehicle recharging through technology which offers greater efficiency.

These challenges, still in the technical definition stage and to be launched in the second phase of the project, will mainly address questions on machinery to find solutions for independent charging which doesn’t rely on plugs in specific spaces, making for quicker, simpler and cheaper implementation and meaning the project can be scaled up easily.
