The economist Lourdes Beneria Farré will be talking about ‘Care, Ageing and the Post-Pandemic Economy’ as this year’s lecture for 11 September. The talk will centre on the impact the pandemic has had on care in all realms (family, work and social), the challenge of prioritising them and the direct link they have with the economy.
Lourdes Beneria Farré is an economist and professor emerita with Cornell University. Her publications centre on subjects relating to the labour market, women’s labour, gender and development, globalisation and the development of Latin America. In 2018 she was awarded the Cross of Sant Jordi by the Government of Catalonia.
The ceremony will be on 9 September, at 6 pm, in the Saló de Cent chamber at the City Hall. The speaker will be giving the lecture ‘Care, Ageing and the Post-Pandemic Economy’.
