Personal Trainer és una de les noves formacions holandeses més interessants dels darrers anys. Amb seu a Amsterdam, la banda va fitxar el 2019 pel segell independent Holm Front, dirigit per Henry Young de Sports Team. Conegut per saber com impulsar i promoure talents emergents, la disquera va publicar el maig del citat any, només en vinil, el seu single de debut, amb les cançons The Lazer i Stormchaser Of The Month, que es va convertir en una excel·lent targeta de presentació al Regne Unit.

Molts fins i tot van creure que era una banda londinenca, ja que la seva caòtica i solta presència en directe va tenir una recepció tremenda en sales enganxoses i estretes de la capital britànica, com The Windmill o The George Tavern, on van arrasar en les seves presentacions. I després de compartir escenari amb bandes com Pip Blom, Sports Team i Hinds, va quedar clar que hi havia una formació llesta per a paladars de fans de Car Seat Headrest, The Fall, Pavement, Silver Jews o els primers LCD Soundsystem. Al febrer de 2021 va arribar el seu EP Gazebo i al novembre de 2022 el seu primer LP, Big Love Blanket. Finalment, per corroborar que en concert són excel·lents i se senten al seu hàbitat natural, el març d'aquest any han publicat “Personal Trainer Live At Katzwijm”.
