Ali Kural

Ali Kural is a practising architect and urbanist, founder of UrbAr Office for Urbanization and Architecture based in Istanbul, Turkey. Kural completed his Bachelor of Architecture at the Middle East Technical University of Ankara; his graduate degree is in Architecture and Urban Design at Harvard University GSD as a Fulbright Scholar. Kural has practised in Boston, New York and Washington, DC. Working across architecture, planning and urban design, his projects include municipal and private commissions, such as public spaces, towns, student residences and private houses. Among his civic projects are the Alacati Square and Alacati Windmills Park -located in scenic Mediterranean landscape, and recently the historic Beyazit Square in Istanbul – formerly a Roman forum. Regardless of scale, Kural brings together various forms of publicity and arts. His projects are published in various journals and books.
