The castells are one of the most distinctive traditions of Catalonia, combining strength, balance, courage and good sense in a unique cultural manifestation. It exemplifies collective effort and cohesion between people of all ages and conditions.

For Mercè, Barcelona joins the Diada castellera with a day featuring the city's colles: Colla Castellers de Barcelona, Castellers de Sants, Castellers de la Vila de Gràcia, Castellers del Poble Sec, Castellers de la Sagrada Família, Colla Castellera Jove de Barcelona, Castellers de Sarrià, i Esquerdats - Colla Castellera de l'Esquerra de l'Eixample.

To guarantee safety and improve mobility during human towers meetings, some streets have been established as access routes and exit routes for Plaça Sant Jaume. 

Access: via the streets of Ferran, Jaume I and Bisbe. 

Exit: via the streets of Call, Paradís, Llibreteria, Ciutat and plaça de Sant Miquel. 

Please respect the direction indicated in each street and remember the square has a limited capacity.
