The Cape Verde singer Mayra Andrade, accompanied by Jorge Almeida on the acoustic guitar, invites us to the Teatre Grec on a grand and intimate journey through her discs and music, presenting the disc she recorded live in November 2023 at The Union Chapel, London.

Born in Cuba and raised between Cape Verde, Senegal, Angola and Germany, today Mayra Andrade lives between Paris and Lisbon. Self-taught, her first album, Navega, firmly established her as one of the most outstanding talents to come out of the African archipelago, following the legacy of local singers such as Cesária Évora.

Mayra Andrade has left her mark on global music with her unique fusion of rhythms and styles that include morna, batuku, funanà, coladeira, batuque, tropicalism, afrobeat and other world music, to which she adds her own personal jazz touch.
