Principium

Classical and electronic music - Catalonia-

Escenari L'Harmonia

There will be an accessible space for people with reduced mobility

After a 2023 full of pre-releases on the indie scene (Heliogàbal, Adoberies Vic), and also on the classical scene (Reafina), even being able to make their first international incursion (Norpas Festival, Finland), last winter saw the launch of Principium, the duo's first project (self-published), in album form. Electro Ma Non Troppo is medieval ‘xumba-xumba’. It’s what Vivaldi would like to listen to at a rave. It’s Bach cranked up a notch. These are the classical pieces that were played at the opera and at pompous feudal banquets four centuries ago, brought up to date with mercurial electronics and metamorphic sounds. In the times we live in, when it seems that nothing can be done without vintage aesthetics, Ignasi Bosch (production, programming and synthesizers) and Neus Llorens (soprano and sampler) take the norm to the extreme, creating a serious caricature, taking original pieces written during the baroque period (primarily the 17th and 18th centuries) and giving them a sonic corporeality suitable for the ears of the current century. And far more than this: it’s a whole artistic thesis that as well as building bridges between eras aims to push the boundaries of each in order to extract something of an anachronistic residue.
