Night-time road closures due to the completion of the first phase of the works to cover the Ronda de Dalt ring road

Next Monday, September 9, restrictions on the fast lanes in both directions of the Ronda de Dalt ring road, which have been causing disruption to traffic between access roads 5 and 6 since June, will come to an end. In order to conclude this first phase of the works, night-time closures of this section of the ring road will be necessary between 6 and 11 September.

Closures on this section of the Ronda de Dalt ring road over the next few nights will be required to allow the work on paving the lanes of the roadway to be carried out, together with painting and signage tasks. Closures will apply from around 10.30 pm each day, and the sections affected will be reopened between 4.30 am and 10 am, depending on the day, the direction of travel and the lane concerned. Traffic will always be diverted along the same side of the road, to minimise the inconvenience caused.

  • Night of 6 to 7 September: the whole of the ring road will be closed off at 10.30 pm in both directions, to allow paving work to be carried out. The slow lane in each direction will reopen at 6 am, and the central lane at 8 am.
  • Night of 7 to 8 September: closure from 10.30 pm to 8 am, at which time the slow lanes will be reopened. The central lanes will reopen at 10 am.
  • Night of 8 to 9 September: the road will be closed at 10.30 pm in the Besòs direction, and at 11 pm in the Llobregat direction. Reopening will be at 4.30 am. This is to allow painting work to be carried out.
  • Night of 9 to 10 September: the road will be closed from 10.30 pm to 4.30 am in the Besòs direction only, to allow for the removal of road works signage.
  • Night of 10 to 11 September: the road will be closed from 10.30 pm to 4.30 am in the Llobregat direction only, to allow for the removal of road works signage.

The first step towards covering the ring road

The paving of the road is the final stage of the first phase of the works to cover the Ronda de Dalt ring road between Avda. Vallcarca and the Vall d’Hebron Secondary School in the Horta-Guinardó district. During the summer months, a new central wall has been constructed on the ring road. This will be the support structure on which the slab over the ring road will be installed, work on which is scheduled to begin in summer 2025. Until then, work will be focused on the construction of the six emergency exits.

The works to cover the road now include 350 linear metres more of the Ronda de Dalt – in addition to the 200 metres already completed – in front of the Mercat del Vall d’Hebron.
