Ideas competition to transform 10 party walls in the city resolved
The winning projects will turn anonymous walls into façades that enrich the urban landscape, enhancing the liveability of buildings and improving sustainability. The works will form part of the legacy of the city’s role as the World Capital of Architecture 2026.Organised in conjunction with UNESCO and the International Union of Architects, the competition recognised 30 of the 439 projects presented from 50 countries. First, second and third prizes were awarded for each site, along with two special mentions.
The jury, made up of seven architects of international prestige, valued the consistency and clarity of the projects, and the adaptability of the building to the urban environment.
The criteria for choosing the ten sites included their territorial distribution, with one per city district, and their impact on the urban landscape, always with the agreement of local communities.
The works also form part of the Programme for Local Spaces and Interiors (PEPI) to improve public space in the city.
You can find all the winning projects on the website for the ideas competition for young architects.
