The Venue Barcelona: new ecosystem for innovative companies
A new centre has been launched at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys to provide an ecosystem for innovative companies in music, sports and large events: The Venue Barcelona. The centre has 1,100 m2 of floor space and is equipped with 14 work modules, a large coworking area and other spaces to facilitate dialogue between the companies based there. The centre also has 400 m2 of outside space for open-air activities.

The Venue Barcelona has started its activity with 10 companies, start-ups and residents’ associations working on innovative projects in the realms of sport, music, large events and related industries:
- A-Champs: specialising in the design of innovative and interactive sports entertainment solutions, using technology based on multi-sensorial stimulation, through lights, sound and vibrations.
- AFYDAD: Spanish Sports Association bringing together over 100 companies and 250 brands in the sports sphere.
- Barcelona Music Tech Hub: promoting and serving a community of over 80 music professionals, start-ups and investors in the music industry, the goal being to generate synergies and promote innovation, investment, knowledge and digital transition in the sector.
- Barcelona Sports Hub: an initiative by the Barcelona Institute of Sports as part of its strategy to support the sports tech sector as a key area of innovation and as an emerging economic sector in the city.
- Sportmas: this company has developed a platform connecting manufacturers, distributors and retailers in the sports industry to exchange information on products, digitalise all logistic processes and manage commercial activity.
- Talent Passport: this company offers a space for developing talent devoted to the successful creation of entrepreneurial projects in the spheres of music, sport, culture, industry and entertainment.
- Toda & Nel·lo: providing legal services for companies linked to the innovation centre, guaranteeing a solid legal framework for all initiatives developed there.
- TPC Matchpoint: creator of software designed for the comprehensive management of activity at sports centres.
- TUWA: project connecting the sports and tourism sectors to help develop sustainable sports events and circular products.
- WeVolv: founded by the professional basketball player Jori Davis, this company has generated an ecosystem of users in the sports world that enables athletes to independently manage their careers and lifestyles with the support of the community.
The innovation centre was launched by Barcelona de Serveis Municipals (BSM), in collaboration with Barcelona Activa and the Barcelona Institute of Sports (IBE). It is managed by a combination of companies that in recent years have headed successful projects in areas such as the design and promotion of innovation centres, managing acceleration programmes for start-ups and developing results-driven marketing solutions and branding to position companies in the growth stage.
